Shukri Wrights was born on October 5th, 1991 in New York, NY. Wrights grew up loving sports and fell in love with the New York Yankees when he was seven years old. At age 12, Wrights first listened to sports talk radio when he began to listen WFAN & 1050 ESPN Radio (now 98.7 ESPN) in the summer of 2004.

In the summer of 2015, Wrights made the decision to move to Boston, Massachusetts to pursue his dream as a sports radio host & broadcaster. He made the move to Boston on February 15th, 2017. Wrights got his first chance working in radio hosting his own sports radio show called "The Shukri Wrights Show" on 91.5 FM WMFO in July 2019 until August 2023.

 

After the world shutdown due to COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, Wrights launched his own podcast. "The Shukri Wrights Podcast" would go on to host some of the most notable names in sports media interviewing the likes of MLB on TBS announcer Brian Anderson, Seattle Marines TV & Radio Broadcaster Dave Sims, and many more! The podcast can be heard on iHeartRadio, Audacy, and wherever you get your podcasts. It can be watched on YouTube via Wright's youtube channel (Shukri Wrights).

 

In September 2020, Wrights joined 100.1 FM WBRS launching his weekly sports talk radio show "Know Your Wrights".  Just four months later in January 2021, he would join Pacifica Radio Network to become the newest nationally syndicated radio host as host of "The Shu".

Wrights began to make Boston Bruins content on Twitter in Spring 2021, which lead to an increase in sports media and networking opportunities. He also would go onto to create content on other Boston sports teams and build his platform, which later led to opportunities in sports media.

Wrights has been featured and interviewed on a number of media outlets including SportsMap Radio, CBS Sports Radio, 98.5 The Sports Hub, The Hockey News, NewsNation, and others.
